AUDITION NOTICE
A Man for All Seasons by Robert Bolt
Director Paul Norell (The Importance of Being Earnest, 2025; It’s Never Too Late, 2024) is holding auditions for our upcoming June production of A Man for All Seasons at Titirangi Theatre.

Audition date: Sunday 29 March
From: 2.00pm onwards
Location: Titirangi Theatre
Robert Bolt’s classic drama follows Sir Thomas More, the principled Lord Chancellor who refuses to compromise his conscience for the demands of King Henry VIII. Set in the political and religious upheaval of Tudor England, it is a powerful play about integrity, loyalty and the price of standing by one’s beliefs.
Season: 2–13 June (12 performances)

Rehearsals:
An eight week rehearsal period, three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Rehearsals will increase in frequency as production week approaches.
Roles available (there are lots!)

The Common Man (40+)
A versatile role playing several characters and speaking directly to the audience. Not unkind, but careful to avoid trouble.
Sir Thomas More (50+)
Lord Chancellor. Principled, thoughtful and steadfast in his convictions.
Richard Rich (30+)
An ambitious academic uncertain of his place in the world of power and politics.
Duke of Norfolk (40+)
A soldier and loyal friend guided by a simple code of duty.
Alice More (50+)
Thomas More’s wife. Devoted and strong willed.
Margaret More (20+)
Thomas More’s intelligent and loyal daughter.
Cardinal Wolsey (60+)
A powerful churchman whose influence is fading.
Thomas Cromwell (30+)
Sharp minded, controlled and formidable.
Chapuys (40+)
A Spanish diplomat and observer of the English court.
William Roper (30+)
Earnest and morally certain.
King Henry VIII (30–40)
Charming, powerful and unpredictable.
Woman (30+)
Outspoken, self righteous and indignant.
Cranmer (40+)
A pragmatic churchman who treats faith as administration.
