Our Next Production
The Plague
after La Peste by Albert Camus
Adapted for the stage by Neil Bartlett
On Stage 16th - 27th March 2021
The Plague is a compelling adaptation of Albert Camus’ story written in 1947 about living through a time of crisis.
Adapted in 2017 Neil Bartlett uses five actors and only Camus' words.
The characters navigate a world of growing confusion and high stakes with Bartlett exploring human nature and the diversity of reactions to the unfolding crisis. Sound familiar?
This is a play for the times with The Guardian UK describing it as "ingenious". As we watch this now in 2021 it will be hard not to recognise the past year that has played out.
The Plague will be a night of humour, compassion, wonder and hope.

Our last stage production was
Waiting for God
By Michael Aitkens Director: Bob Lack Season: November 14 - 26 2020 Feisty rest-home resident Diana Trent is always looking for ways to outwit the conniving home manager and his put-upon assistant. Diana finds an ally when kindly Tom Ballard arrives in the home. This is a gentle comedy repurposed for the stage, but there are harsh truths here too. How else can sentient beings cope with the misery of penny-pinching ‘elder care’? |

John Goudge Drama Classes at Titirangi Theatre
Explore the craft of acting in a fun, supportive environment. Each week the class improves skills for voice, characterisation, script reading and performance with 'tried & true' exercises as well as intuitive steps honed over 20 years of teaching.
Classes are directed at developing tools needed to perform on the amateur or professional stage, or in film and TV. Side-benefits include an increase in confidence, vocal clarity, and a sense of fun.
The last week of every course is always a performance by the students at the theatre, with an invited audience of family and friends.
As a tutor since 1995, hundreds of adults and children have been through John Goudge’s fun and effective courses, including at Rimu Glade Studio, his own drama and music studio in Oratia.
He is often invited into schools, theatres and other institutions to run workshops, direct shows or help with production. He has been an actor or director for Titirangi Theatre many times, most recently as director for the sell-out season of Fawlty Towers.

A Message from Bright Lights Little Village:
Hello
I am contacting you on behalf of Bright Lights Little Village which manages the annual GLOW Festival at Titirangi Village each Christmas.
You may be aware of the GLOW Festival where we hold a concert and have street performers attracting locals of all ages. The businesses in the village are then lit up for the festive season.
I thought you may be able to offer some suggestions or contacts for artists who may be happy to perform at our concert or for street entertainment throughout the evening. Whilst this is a charitable function we fund raise in order to have the funds to make a contribution to artists happy to join us.
We are also seeking an MC for the evening.
Any ideas or contacts you are able to supply would be much appreciated. If you feel there is someone else I should approach please advise.
Thank you for your consideration. Please contact me if you have any questions.
